Drilling & Tapping Machines

Drilling & Tapping Machines

Drilling and tapping machines are designed to perform operations such as drilling, tapping, reaming, chamfering, and countersinking on metal components. They are widely used when workpieces require consistent hole positions, thread quality, machining depth, and repeatable cycle times.

The machine configuration should be determined according to the workpiece material, hole diameter, thread size, spindle speed, feed stroke, machining direction, and required production volume. Servo-controlled feeding can provide flexible positioning and feed adjustment, while dedicated drilling or tapping units may be selected for stable repetitive production.

HANN KUEN offers drilling spindle units, tapping spindle units, and combined drilling and tapping spindle units in different sizes and configurations. Available solutions include servo-feed models, flange-type spindle units, built-in motor spindles, linear-rail designs, and models suitable for automatic tool changing.

The spindle unit can also be combined with servo or hydraulic slide units and multi-spindle heads. This enables machine builders to develop single-station or multi-station drilling and tapping systems based on actual workpiece layouts and production requirements.
